Welcome to the New School 99 Wiki!
New School 99 is 2012 RuneScape with WASD movement.
Pre-EoC RuneScape, rebuilt in HD. The world you grew up in, with WASD, a free camera and combat you play with your hands. The skills, quests and places are the ones you remember; the way you move and fight is new.
It's free to play, and you don't need a Jagex account: New School 99 has its own accounts. Get the launcher from newschool99.com and join the Discord.

What's new in New School 99
- WASD and a free camera
- Run, sprint and look around like a modern game.
- Free combat
- You move with WASD and every click is a swing, with combos, dodge rolls and lock-on. Weapons keep their RuneScape stats and speed.
- Dodge rolls
- Tap Space to roll out of a hit, in any direction.
- Lock-on
- Middle mouse locks your target, and the camera keeps it centred.
- Bosses that telegraph
- Big attacks wind up and mark the ground first. Fight Graardor, the King Black Dragon, the Kalphite Queen and more.
- The gods
- Pledge to Saradomin, Zamorak or Armadyl and call their power down.
- The Sanctum
- A home among the gods, floating above the clouds.
- Parties of five
- Right-click a player and pick Invite to party. Up to five of you on the same world can fight the same monster, even in single-way areas, and each of you gets a bonus on the XP.
- Server chat
- The globe on your chat bar talks to every world at once, and the player count opens the list of who's online. Party chat keeps it between your party.
- HD overhaul
- Sun shadows, HD textures, grass and water.

Playing
- Windows: Windows 10 and 11, 64-bit.
- macOS: coming soon, for Apple silicon and Intel. The Discord gets the news first.
- Windows says "Windows protected your PC": the installer is new, so SmartScreen doesn't recognise it yet. Click More info, then Run anyway.
- Graphics: on a laptop with a graphics card, the game picks the card by itself. You can change it under Graphics card in the login screen's Settings.

- Questions: ask in the Discord, where players and helpers answer fast.
- Bugs: post in #bug-reports on the Discord. Screenshots help.
- Crashes or can't log in: send your logs. If the game opens, use Send us your logs in the login screen's Settings. If it won't start, follow newschool99.com/help/logs.
